GIFT IDEA: THE “PRECIOUS SKINS” COLLECTION
THE BEST SKINS IN THE WORLD MEET MORELLATO’S EXPERTISE

Among the must-haves for fall/winter 2014 we find alligator and crocodile exotic leather accessories and animalier looks, some of the rarest and priciest on the market.

In keeping with the search for stylistic perfection of its materials, Morellato selects for its Precious Skins line the best exotic leathers in the world, to offer top quality and exclusivity in each individual piece: we are the only company in Europe who buys raw and discoloured skins directly from select farms in order to ensure the highest standards the market can offer today.

Thanks to our craftsmen unparalleled skill in using old, special cutting and natural tanning techniques on all types of leather, we managed to turn the unique features that nature gave to these skins into sophisticated fashion objects, elegant and perfect in every detail of their “irregularity”.

Let’s see the line’s characteristics and the “secrets” of its production that make it so precious. Surely a special gift idea for your Christmas presents!

PRECIOUS SKINS COLLECTION: RARE AND SOPHISTICATED

The skins used for this line come exclusively from Louisiana alligators and Colombia crocodiles, the best in the world. In order to obtain a shiny look on our watch straps, we use two finishing techniques that enhance the prestige of the final product: the agatatura, which subjects the skin to the repeated passage of a natural agate stone, and the plating, where several heat passages give the scales extra strength.

The range of colours include 22 nuances, in either glossy or matt finish for alligator and just glossy for crocodile.

A line for real connoisseurs, made precious not only by the craftsmanship techniques used but also by the limited number of straps that can be obtained from each skin, giving them a timeless exclusivity that goes well beyond fashion.

DID YOU KNOW THAT?

  • Only 10 straps with the characteristic square scales can be obtained on average from one alligator
  • The most valuable part of the skin is the belly, because alligator skins show a different quality texture in different parts of the body
  • Only 6 straps can be obtained on average from one crocodile, because only skin sides are suitable to be processed
  • Morellato uses exclusively fine skins from reared animals
  • All skins are accompanied by a Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora, certificate attesting that they come from authorized farms in full compliance with the Washington International Convention for the safeguard of protected species.
